Cheers to another new year! Since the covid-19 pandemic began, our lifestyles have altered a little (okay… altered a lot). Masks and social distancing have become the norm and trying to keep ourselves and our family safe and healthy is a top priority for most.
2022 is upon us and life is starting to adjust and look a little bit more “normal”. Venues, stores, and restaurants are re-opening and more hustle and bustle is happening.
As one year passes and a new year begins, it’s normal to set your eyes on new resolutions, adventures, and challenges.
It’s easy to make a New Year’s resolutions, but we must put in the work and keep up the work to turn those resolutions into reality.
Below are 5 simple ways to start your year off right. This year can be your best year if you put in the work. Nothing happens by chance. You must take the initial step.
1. Positive Mindset
Positive thoughts = positive results. Why focus on the negative? Keying in on what’s going wrong will only result in feeling hopeless, depressed, or defeated. Next time you notice yourself focusing on the negative, make a conscious effort to reframe your thoughts to what is going right for you.
When you feel like your day is going bad and you can’t catch a break, think of 5 things you are grateful for.
2. Plan more
Have you heard the saying “fail to plan, plan to fail”? Planning more will result in your day/life being more organized. Grab a planner or simply write a weekly or daily to-do list and watch your days be less hectic and more productive.
3. Establish Balance
Do you feel like all of your time belongs to others? For many, the answer is yes, and most feel they do not have time to take a breath until they’re getting ready for bed. Allow yourself time to step away and take a time-out. You can’t be there for others if you are running on “E”.
4. Set Goals
I’m sure you have a New Year’s resolution. Whether it’s losing weight, being more available for family and friends, or saving money, you must set your goals. After you set your goals, you will need to make a plan on how you will reach your goals. To get started, think of 3 things you can implement into your weekly regimen to help reach your goal.

5. Get Active
What’s something you want to get involved in or do more of? There’s no better time than now to get started. Volunteering in your community, becoming a mentor, and getting more physical activity are just a few of the many things you can do to get active.
